Does our agreement cover every mile of your transit? Indeed it does. At ALLEN'S CARPET DEPOT, INC., transparency isn't just a buzzword; it's our operating standard. By engaging our transportation services, you're entering into a robust contract designed to safeguard freight integrity from dispatch to final delivery.
We've spent 17 years refining these definitions to ensure no ambiguity remains. These terms govern all cargo movements, warehousing activities, and forwarding instructions processed through our Ohio hub and global network.
2. Liability & Coverage
What happens if the unexpected occurs during transit? Our liability is strictly limited as per standard industry freight carrier protocols. We're committed to professional care, but we strongly advise clients to secure independent cargo insurance for high-value forwarding.
3. Transit Timelines
Timelines are estimates based on standard logistics flow. While we're masters of the transit schedule, ALLEN'S CARPET DEPOT, INC. isn't liable for delays caused by weather, customs bottlenecks, or administrative hurdles beyond our direct control.
4. Cargo Classification
Wait, did you declare your freight correctly? Accurate manifest descriptions are mandatory. We don't handle hazardous materials without prior written authorization and specialized documentation. Failure to disclose net weight or material hazards may result in immediate termination of the transit agreement without refund.
5. Payment & Invoicing Terms
Payments for services rendered are due within 14 business days of invoice issuance. We're quite strict about this - late payments may incur a 2.5% monthly interest fee. Freight charges are calculated based on whichever is greater: actual weight or volumetric weight.
6. Warehousing & Storage
Our Dover, OH facility provides secure warehousing, yet storage beyond the agreed transit grace period (usually 48 hours) triggers standard daily holding rates. We're proud of our facility's security, but risk of loss remains with the owner unless a specific storage bailment is signed.
